R. Storie thinks that trend and style you convey who you are. Since she was 14 years old, Rachel Peirce, the proprietor of R. Storie, a children’s boutique clothing store in Gig Harbor North, has been telling style stories. Her store connects women to the best in vogue and fosters self-assurance and expressiveness through style.

Peirce had aspirations of starting a company while growing up on Fox Island and attending Gig Harbor High School. Peirce returned to work at Nordstrom while residing in Gig Harbor after earning her firm level from Washington State University.

Peirce pursued a career in store for the following 20 years. She held a number of executive positions at Nordstrom before becoming the chairman of multi-channel items planning for women’s clothing. It was a “multi-faceted” work that included coverage of all full-priced retailers in Canada and online. I adored it, Peirce remarked.

She would also be instrumental in the introduction of several lateral companies, including Good American, Reformation, Sezane, and Madewell.

pursuing her journey

Peirce left commercial shop in 2020, when the globe paused to deal with a global pandemic. Peirce spent the following year preparing to pursue her final goal of owning her own business in addition to spending more time at home with her two children and spouse.

She put together picture board, created a business plan, and started looking for Gig Harbor areas.

She remarked,” I had the perception and could see it coming to life.” She searched all over for the ideal setting, saying,” I would stay in parking lots and observe buyers.”

Nothing like this exists around, she remarked. There are districts in this area. And there are plants!

In October 2022, the shops opened its doors.

Peirce remarked,” We get new customers every day,” sometimes from as far away as Seattle and Bellevue. In the same purchasing complex, local stores occasionally draw onlookers. One new customer was thrown into” My father’s second door at Subway” as he quickly browsed the racks of the newest clothing.

R. Storie takes pleasure in carrying businesses with their own unique stories in addition to the personal style history. A neighborhood fire who found a creative outlet in jewelry making came up with the idea for Golden Flame Necklaces. After working at Nordstrom for more than 20 years, Peirce is familiar with her manufacturers and looks to design influencers for inspiration. Cotopaxi clothing, Free Citizens, Anine Bing, Pistola, BDG, Urban Outfitters, Ganni, Show Me Your Mumu, AGOLDE, Citizens of Humanity, Great American, Favorite Daughter, Sanctuary, Gorjana Jewelry, and many other items are carried by R. Storie.

Peirce stated that” we carry a range of price points ( starting at$ 10) and sizes to fit all shapes from zero to 20.”

It’s crucial, she said, to connect with her clients. I strive to “give the best customer service” and” try to relate to the customers as much as I can ( to ) understand their needs.”
